DIABLO 2008 Opener a Success!!!

Iron Horse Bikes arrived bright and early for Opening Day 2008 at Diablo Freeride Park. Some wet weather earlier in the week had the mountain in prime condition. Some new obstacles were spotted on the course, traction was excellent and the rider turnout was impressive.

The demo fleet was in use all day long. Riders had a chance to take a ride on the same technology that Sam Hill and Sabrina Jonnier have ridden to multiple world titles.

If you did not get a chance to take a run on a Sunday or 6point, come see us next time.

So, go grab a bag of Funyons and a can of Monster, sit down and check out possibly the greatest 1/2 hours of bike vid you can watch. We now present you with...Clappin' Yo Dome!

Preview of the 2008 World Championship Courses

Rolling clouds and impending snowfalls (which we promptly encountered on the Tonale pass) didn't stop the riders of team Playbiker - Iron Horse, Italy's sole UCI Trade Team devoted to gravity racing, to hop on their bikes in a very cold november weekend to test ride the much awaited, and still unknown, downhill course in Val di Sole, Italy, which, in june next year, will host the UCI Mounatin Bike World Championships.

Riders Elisa Canepa, Elias Somvi and Luca Bertocchi, with the assistance of team manager Romano Favoino, managed to put togheter a few solid runs on the course, which is largely completed, except for the start area (which is going to be on top of the grassy field you will see at the beginning of the video) and finish arena. Of course there were still a few downed trees in the middle of the course, especially due to the construction of the new gondola which is going to be open for the winter season, but the track is clearly visible, most of it for the first time.
At the end of their run, the riders enter the 4X course, which is basically completed as well.

Enough for now, here's the link to the video:

(please do excuse us for the low quality of the video, filmed with a helmet cam to better show the course in its integrity)
